Show Me Edgware Road – currently an R&D exploration into the realities of exile as experienced by Arabic women. Based on workshops held with Middle Eastern women, a filmed promenade performance of over 20 women in abayas (the black traditional Iraqi women’s covering) and a devised process working with 4 leading Middle Eastern performers.
A mother and daughter are forced to flee their homeland. Over a period of 30 years, it’s a glimpse into female exile, the shifting relationships between themselves, their ancestral home and the country they must now call home.
